The Typhone Golf Resort  is interwoven into the landscape to create a recreation oriented  resort community, defined by its intimate relationship with the land. This restaurant clubhouse is located near the 18th hole of the golf course. A second Pavillion Restaurant was designed for the 9th hole. As well as the restaurants, a number of out buildings were also designed for the golf course—Including lighting shelters.  The project responds to this unique setting in its building design and creates a distinct identity— highlighting wood.  A carved, central log  "house pole"  is a featured part of the  structural supporting system—reaching for the sky and symbolically anchoring the restaurant facility to the earth.

Some of the  guiding principles followed in the development of the Conceptual Design  include:
• Sustainability— to have a low impact on the environment
• Community— to be in context with the resort setting
• Health— to be healthy for members, staff  and guests
• Energy Efficiency— to be energy efficient
• Resource Efficiency —to use quality, long lasting building materials
• Small Footprint— to provide a compact, efficient development
